A major sign that we’re doing something right (and a small justification of my rockstar post), this recent article from AdvertisingAge paints a very interesting picture of the industry. It makes me wonder a) if we’re just headed for another implosion of the industry and b) why isn’t Crispin Porter calling me? I’d work for a measly $250K!
Thanks to EJ for the link.
$400,000 for a flash developer??? Wow, I’m really in the wrong field here!! Being a flash developer does sound a lot like being a rockstar: rolling in to work after 10:30, being the “hippest” and “coolest” person in the office, getting paid a boatload of money… sign me up!
You know what’s causing it, though? The Web 2.0 [beta] hype/bubble. In about a year or so, all this crap will come falling down around our ray-ban wearing, iPod-listening, AS3-developing, hipster ears. It’s 1999 again. Enjoy it, but don’t get too comfy…
Rich. You’re totally right. I agree. Friends don’t let friends work for stock options.
